Please bear with us as our new web site is still under development. New content and features will continue to appear over the next few months. We host Mariners Cove bingo on Thursday evenings at the clubhouse. Games start at 6:00pm and are generally finished by 8:30pm. You should arrive early to get your cards and register for the side games.
You will need a bingo dauber to mark your cards – we have daubers available for sale if you need one. Quarters are appreciated as we don’t have any change readily available. Many of us find a separate pen or highlighter useful to mark the pattern on our cards during the special games.
Feel free to bring snacks to share; put them in the kitchen.
We supply the bingo cards – one sheet has 4 bingo cards. You can choose to play multiple sheets each game. You cannot use the same sheet for multiple games.
We play 20 standard games followed by the final 21st jackpot game.
- During the standard games, every 5th game is a special game with the winning pattern selected by the night’s caller. They will explain the pattern, but if you are new and not familiar with the specials, please feel free to ask for clarification.
- The remaining standard games are won with either “4 Corners” or standard 5 in a row in any direction (horizontal, vertical, diagonal).
- The final jackpot game is 3 separate games; all played on the same set of cards. First to get “4 Corners”, first to get “Inside Picture Frame” (all eight squares around the Free Space, and first to get “Cover All” (all numbers on a card).
We take a break after the 10th game for bathroom breaks and snacks.
The cost to play the first 20 games is 50¢ a sheet. The cost to play the final jackpot game is $1 per sheet. You may play up to three sheets each game so long as you can keep up. The cost would be $11 to play one sheet for all games. There will be a cup on your table to put your quarters, which are collected at the start of each game (you pay for each game, not once at the start of the evening).
The “house” holds back a portion of the money collected for each regular game, which is then added to increase the pot for the special games and final jackpot game. The payout for each game is what was collected, less the hold back, for that game. Multiple winners split the pot. Each Bingo is verified by the caller, hold your cards until a “good Bingo” has been announced.
You will have a bag at your table to dispose of your marked-up Bingo sheets. We do a quick cleanup before the final jackpot game to throw away all the marked-up sheets, put away supplies, and tidy up so everyone can be on their way after that final game.
House Rules
- Each player may play at most three sheets per game.
- When you call Bingo, your winning pattern must include the last number called – you must call Bingo before the caller calls the next number. Late Bingos do not count.
- We allow young people to play, but they do not win cash. Delaware law requires that you must be 18 or older to participate. If a “Kid Bingo” is called do not discard your cards, play continues until an adult calls Bingo. “Kid Bingo” winners win a choice of a snack or a soft drink from the kitchen. Kids do not pay to play.
Side Games
We run several side games during the night.
- The 50-50 raffle is $2 for 3 tickets. The winning ticket is called during the break after the 10th game. The winner collects half of the raffle pot, with the other half going into the HOA’s general operating fund.
- A Cookie Jar ticket for the evening is 50¢. The caller will select a number at the start of the evening. If you call Bingo when the Cookie Jar number is called and you have a Cookie Jar ticket from that evening, you win the Cookie Jar pot. If there is not a winner, the pot rolls over week to week until there is a winner. The cookie jar cannot be won in a special game or the final jackpot game.
- The Horse Race is $1 per number. The Horse Race is played during the final jackpot game. You can sign up for numbers 1 through 15, numbers go on a first come first served basis. You may play as many numbers as you would like. We usually have several Horse Race sheets. For the first column on the caller’s board to fill up (e.g. 1, 16, 31,46, 61), the “B” number is the horse race winner. Each winner wins $15; there is one winner from each Horse Race sheet.
