What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

Site Visitor Data

When you visit pages on the site we may collect the visitor’s IP address and browser agent for the purposes of maintaining audit logs of system activity.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact Forms

When you use the “Contact Us” forms we collect your name, email address, and any information you provide in the message to send to us. These forms generate an email to MCHOA board members and/or their delegates. We do not control how such users may use or distribute any information shared on these forms.

Member Registration and Login

When you register as a member or update your information in your member profile we collect your name, email address(es), mailing address(es), phone number(s), and Mariners Cove lot number.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy describes how your data is stored and used by Automattic. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. Email Click Tracking

Our website uses Brevo to reliably deliver automated emails. Email sent from the site may contain “click tracking” links for the purposes of tracking delivery and providing campaign analytics. We have configured the service to perform anonymous email tracking such that opens and clicks are tracked but not associated with a specific contact. The Brevo Privacy Policy describes how your data is stored and used by Brevo. 

Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics which gathers data through first-party cookies to analyze user behavior (e.g., page views, IP addresses, browser type, browser version). This service does not collect any personally identifiable information. The Google Privacy Policy describes how your data is stored and used by Google. You can opt-out of the use of your data in the Google Analytics service by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on .

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

We provide a member directory of all users that have an account on this site. The directory can be viewed by all registered users on our website. You can opt-out of including your information in the member directory on the privacy tab of your account.

We may share your contact information with our Neighborhood Watch team for the purposes of contacting you in case of an emergency at your property. You can opt-out of this sharing in your member profile .

We may use your contact information for the purposes of distributing email communication from the organization. You can opt-out of these communications in your member profile . This will not prevent the sending of website operational communications, e.g., sending you a password reset email.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include site activity audit log data or any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Registered users that have an account on this site can export or delete their personal data from the privacy tab of your account.
